What to Expect During a Reiki Session
Reiki promotes deep relaxation and helps release stress, bringing balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit.
During a Reiki session, you will typically lie fully clothed on a comfortable table. No pressure is applied, and no oils are used. Reiki is adaptable, so you can receive it in almost any setting—such as a chair or hospital bed.
The practitioner may begin with introductory questions to understand your healing needs and help you set an intention for the session. The session may include a combination of hand-on healing or hands held just above your body, following a series of hand positions that align with the chakras. The practitioner may also focus on areas of injury or discomfort.
Reiki is a gentle and non-invasive practice, with practitioners always respecting personal boundaries.
Though the technique appears simple, the effects can be profound. Most people report experiencing deep relaxation, a sense of calm, and a feeling of well-being following a session.
